February 6, 2012

I saw this come across my Flipboard TED talk feed and thought it was worth sharing:

From the “I have a dream” speech to Steve Jobs’ iPhone launch, all great presentations have a common architecture. At TEDxEast, Nancy Duarte draws lessons on how to make a powerful call-to-action.

What do you think?  Are you ready to change the world?

Thanks for sharing this, excited to give this form a try.

Don’t think of Jobs is a great example of a excellent talk giver, would have used another example to compliment Dr King.

Thanks for pointing us toward this.

Kurt: I agree that Jobs’ speaking in itself wasn’t great. However, I can’t think of another tech leader that was as effective in his presentations at getting an audience to buy into his ideas, which is why I would suppose Ms. Duarte used the iPhone presentation. In church life, I can think of lots of naturally gifted preachers I’ve heard who can DELIVER a sermon, but not shape one. And of course there are many preachers who are not impressive in themselves, but they have a knack for communicating the Word in a memorable way, in spite of themselves.
